with Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher. I am very pleased to announce that VacuFilm is the US and Canadian representative for SainTech Ion Beam Systems.
Dr Wayne Sainty has been involved in the development of gridless ion guns for over twenty years and has been manufacturing Ion Beam Systems for four years. In that time he has gathered a number of very loyal customers who have been able to take advantage of the many novel and useful features of the Saintech systems. These are now covered by five patents (either applied for or granted). The three systems offered are outlined below. Further details are available via the navigation buttons to the left.
These are all rugged, low maintenance, reliable, systems and are very efficient in terms of small plasma size and minimal gas usage (less than 20 sccm) which allows lower vacuum pressures and better film properties. The efficient plasma also allows the use of straight filaments which are much easier to manufacture and replace. The ST55 and ST3000 offer the significant advantage that the ion current may be pulsed. This allows deposition of (for instance) Mil Spec MgF2. These two larger systems also offer the option of dual filaments with auto-changeover Prices are very competitive for these state-of-the-art systems.
